Discussion Question #2

Who would the book appeal to?
What about it is appealing?
What obstacles should student readers of this book be ready for?
What would students need to know about in order to understand the book?
What issues does the book deal with that students might be interested in discussing?
Is there any “mature” content in the book? If so, what kind of content? How would you deal with such content in class?

Respond in the comments, please.

Tiny Bananas Will Rule the World

This book looks like fun. I chose it because I love graphic novels, that's literally the only reason why I did it. I'm not sure how exciting the story will be. I mean, how much fun will result of a story about a kid who has seizures all the time? I don't know, we'll find out...

It looks really crazy which is what I'm looking forward to. Like someone's crazy brain broke from their skull, took up a pen, and started drawing. And writing. But not at the same time. You can't have left and right brain functions going on at the same time or your brain will explode.

I chose the title name because everyone else was putting variations of "Expectations" and I wanted it to be different.

Epeliptic Blog

I choose to read Epiliptic because it was a graphic novel. I read a lot of manga, so I thought that I'd like reading a graphic novel, rather than a normal book.
I don't know what to expect... I read the first 20 something pages last night, and I'm still not positive. I was entertained while reading, for the most part, so I guess I can expect to be entertained...

expectations

My expectations of this book are that it will be fun to read and a little bit of a challenge. I've always liked graphic novels and love to read them so that was one of the reasons i chose this book. This book also seems like it could get crazy and kind of trippy because of the style of art, which is another reason y i wanted 2 read this book. I think that it is just the right length 4 a graphic novel and that the book will be fun.
If more memoirs were converted 2 graphic novels i think a lot more people would find more joy in reading them. There r also many people who would like to read books like this, just because of the art style. Our group should hav fun reading this book and create some interesting discussions during class. As long as we enjoy the book it should be a fun group.

A few reasons i chose to read Epileptic

The reason I chose Epileptic was because it was a graphic novel. this is the first book I have seen that was also a memoir. It seemed interesting and entertaining because I have read other graphic novels. Also I dont know very much about epilepsy so I was hoping to learn a thing or two about it.
I think a lot of people would be more understanding of diseases if they knew at least a little bit about them. I dont expect this book to be life changing or anything. I just think that if I have to read a book why not the one im most interested in. i understand a little about living with someone who is not what "society" calls is normal. So with this book i can also look for some connections with my own life.

Expectations

I choose this book because it looked like very interesting drawings. This book will tell a memior in a very unique way. It also interested me because it was translated from french. plus i thought it would be quick to read because it looks like a comic book, but ill probually be slow because ill be staring at the crazy drawings.

finally!

i finally got the e-mail to join this blog!!

Tribute to the Greatest Man in the World

Nick Wood is the coolest guy ever created. Seriously. He deserves some sort of reward. Everyone should bow down before him and kiss his shoes. Then gives him $10. Because he's just that awesome. I'm not kidding. Believe me.
